The Department of Mathematics at NSS College started functioning in the year 1967. The UG Course B.Sc. Mathematics was introduced in 1971 and the PG Course M.Sc. Mathematics was started in 1981. The following are the courses offered by the Department.
B.Sc. Mathematics : 3 Years (6 Semesters)
Statistics & Mathematical Economics as Complementary subjects
Complementary Course for BSc Physics and Chemistry (4 semesters)
Open course ‘Mathematics for Natural Science’ offered to other Departments
M.Sc. Mathematics: 2 Years (4 Semesters)
We Produced 100% results in the last two MSc Mathematics Batches. Till now 15 of our students got university ranks in UG and PG Courses. The Department organized UGC Sponsored National Seminar on Geometric Analysis in 2014. WWS and SSP both aided by Govt. of Kerala and Higher Education Department is functioning in the Department. The following are the student support Programmes in the Department:
Teaching Practice session for M.Sc. Students, Free computer awareness Programme, Free Internet Facility for Students in the computer lab, Daily Quiz, Interactive Brainstorming Session (Thursday Programme), Wall Magazine (Ganith), Book Bank, and Magazine by students.
