Welcome to English Department Page

The Department of English has been part of the tradition of N.S.S.College, Nemmara since its inception. However, it became a full-fledged department only when the degree course, B.A. English, started in the year 1995 with British History and Journalism as subsidiary subjects. Over these years, our students have shown excellent academic performance in the University level and our alumni have distinguished themselves in all walks of life. Innovation has always been the hallmark of the department and it now has a successful extension program called DROP which aims to provide language training to the children of the nearby rural area.With a team of dedicated faculty members comprising Four Assistant professors, 3 guest faculty (full-time) and 1 guest faculty (part-time Journalism),the department continues to explore new avenues in its pursuit of excellence.
