PTA

Parent Teacher Association

The PTA plays a very supportive role in the various initiatives taken by the college. It meets regularly and takes stock of the academic and other activities. It monitors the general discipline, results and atmosphere prevailing in the college. It effectively interacts with the teachers and administrative staff. The PTA has a president, secretary, treasurer and an executive body as principal functionaries. The PTA is consulted every year in the annual General Body Meeting. Endowments, scholarships and cash prizes are distributed by the PTA in recognition of the achievements of our students. Rank holders are awarded gold medallions and subject toppers and sports personalities are given cash prizes. The PTA supports the functions and programmes organized by the departments. It also encourages community work on a large scale.

The PTA's functioning is made more effective through class wise PTAs. This enables the PTA to judge the academic and extra-curricular progress of the students. It is a statutory body constituted in accordance with the directions from the Government with the Principal as the President and an elected guardian as the Vice- President. The executive comprises five teacher members and five guardian members in addition to the president. The Association envisages the wholesome development of the personality of students. It encourages the students to nourish their innate aptitudes through constructive interference. Much stress is also laid on the development of leadership qualities of the students. It protects the students from all fissiparous activities and cherishes to promote an awareness of everything congenial and positive in them. It helps in the infrastructure development activities of the college authorities and its accounts are maintained with annual audit by a Chartered Accountant.
