NSS College, Nemmara was founded in the year 1966 by Padmabhushan Mannath Padmanabhan, the founder of NSS. The college, affiliated to the University of Calicut started as a Junior college in 1967 with four batches of Pre Degree and 80 students. It was upgraded to a Senior College in the year 1971-72 and offered under graduate courses of Commerce, History, Chemistry and Mathematics. College celebrated its tenth anniversary in the year 1976-77. With the introduction of shift system in 1979-80 the number of pre degree batches rose from four to six. B Sc Physics commenced in the same year. As the college strode along more under graduate and post graduate courses were added; BA Economics in 1980-81, M Sc mathematics and B.Sc Botany in 1981-82, B.Sc Zoology in 1982-83, M Com in 1984-85, BA English in 1994-95,BBA in 1997-98, BSc Instrumentation in 1998-99, M Sc Chemistry in 2013-14 and BA Malayalam in 2014-15. Now the college offers a total of 12 under graduate courses and three post graduate courses.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div><\/div><\/div>

In 2017 this esteemed institution was Re-accredited with ‘A’ Grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC)<\/h3>\n

NSS College Nemmara, located in the economically backward zone of Nemmara caters to the educational demands of a vast area which includes even the tribal villages of Nelliyampathy. The college which has more than a thousand students under its wings has long been the answer to the higher education dreams of the region. Though struggling under a lack of infrastructural facilities it has shed unwavering light into the lives and careers of many.<\/span><\/p>\n

NSS College Nemmara celebrates its golden jubilee in this academic year. Its vision of empowerment through uncompromising quality education and mission of creating a class of intellectually capable citizens who are socially and environmentally conscious become more and more coherent and valid with each year.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
